Ohio-born
Teresa
Brewer
started
singing
on
local
radio
from
age
five.
Signed
to
the
newly
formed
London
label
in
her
late
teens
she
quickly
scored
a
massive
world-wide
number
one
hit
with
"Music!
Music!
Music!"
and
between
1950
and
the
end
of
1954
she
placed
14
entries
in
the
American
Top
Thirty.
Five
of
those
hits
are
included
on
this
Sepia
CD.
Teresa
had
a
long
performing
career
spanning
over
thirty
years
which
also
included
a
short
stint
as
a
movie
star.
She
later
recorded
with
Duke
Ellington
and
other
top
jazz
musicians,
but
the
songs
featured
here,
recorded
early
in
her
career,
were
mainly
fun,
novelty
numbers
appealing
to
the
teenage
market.
As
far
as
we
know
the
28
tracks
here
are
appearing
on
CD
in
Britain
for
the
first
time
and
are
all
re-mastered
from
the
original
78s.
