Volume 5 of the Bing Crosby
Through the Years series features the 28 commercial tracks recorded by Bing
Crosby in chronological order between February and November 1953.
Among the tracks are four
featured in Bing's film Little Boy Lost - Cela M'est Egal, The
Magic Window, Violets And Violins and A Propos De Rien.
Also
included are eight tracks Bing recorded in France, Le Bing - Song Hits of
Paris was Bing's first LP and one of the first ever concept albums.
Bing sings such French favourites as Mademoiselle De Paris, La Mer and
La Vie En Rose in French.
Changing Partners was
at the time a big hit for Patti Page and Bing covered it. His version reached
No. 13 in the USA charts and in the UK it went higher to the No. 9 spot.
Two
numbers Bing recorded with his son Gary are heard here - What A Little
Moonlight Can Do and Down By The Riverside, the latter
charting briefly reaching No. 28.
